About This Game

Every other parking game hands you a floating camera behind the car, or a map, or both. The Reversing Camera takes them away. There is one lens, bolted above the number plate, pointed backwards through a wide fisheye. What it sees is the entire game.

This changes the task completely. Reversing feels almost easy, because that is the direction the camera was built for — the guide lines bend with the wheel and show you exactly where the back of the car is going. Driving forward is the disorienting part: the world slides away from you, the bay you are aiming for leaves the frame entirely, and the only thing standing between your bumper and a wall is a bar graph and a rising tone.

Fourteen stages escalate that pressure. The guide lines fail. The light goes and the camera switches to infrared. Rain hits the lens, then grime builds on it and eats the corners of the frame. By the last stage you are reverse-parallel-parking in the dark, through a smeared lens, with no guidance overlay and something moving behind you.

The Peek System

You have three peeks per stage. Each cuts to an overhead view for a second and a half, then drops you back into the camera. Each costs 100 points. Finishing without using any is worth a 150-point bonus.

The tension is the point. A peek early, to set your approach angle, is usually worth it. A peek in a panic, three seconds before you were going to complete the bay anyway, is 100 points of nothing. The best runs use one, deliberately, at the moment the car stops making sense.

Stars follow the total: 1550+ earns three, 1150 earns two, 700 earns one. The shuffle allowance is more generous than a normal parking game, because working blind legitimately takes more corrections.

How To Play

  1. On a computer: or W S to drive and reverse, or A D to steer, Space for the handbrake, P to peek, M to mute, R to restart.
  2. On a phone: the on-screen controls. Landscape gives you considerably more image.
  3. The guide lines bend as you steer. Where they land is where the back of the car lands.
  4. The big number on the right is live rear clearance in metres. It is the most useful thing on the screen.
  5. The front sensor bar is your only forward warning. If it goes red, stop.

Tips For Working Blind

  • Reverse more than you drive. The camera is built for it, and every metre forward is a metre navigated on faith.
  • Set the angle first, at distance, while you can still see the whole bay in frame. Fine corrections close in are far more expensive than they look.
  • Trust the number over the picture. Fisheye distortion makes things look further away at the edges than they are.
  • When the guide lines are disabled, use the bay's own painted lines as your reference and keep them symmetrical in frame.
  • On the infrared stages, contrast collapses. Slow down before you think you need to — the beeping is more reliable than your eyes.

Why This Exists

Reversing cameras arrived and quietly changed what drivers know how to do. A generation learned to park by watching a screen rather than turning around, which works beautifully right up until the lens is dirty, the sun is behind you, or the car is a hire car with the camera mounted somewhere else entirely.

This is that dependency, isolated and turned into a game. It is not a claim that cameras are bad — they are excellent. It is a chance to notice how completely you would be relying on one if it were the only thing you had.

Yes. Your best score and star rating for each stage are kept in your own browser, so you can close the page and pick up where you left off. Nothing is uploaded anywhere, and clearing your browser data clears your progress.
